co-operating with Ruhr-Universität. The UK-RUB is synonymous for health care on the utmost level and excellent research and teaching in the field of university medicine.
With immediate effect, the Medical Centre for Mental Health of Mühlenkreiskliniken, university hospital of Ruhr-Universität Bochum, has a first-time vacancy:

University professor (W2-analogue)
for Psychosomatic medicine and Psychotherapy
(with Tenure-Track option)

As part of Mühlenkreiskliniken AöR, the Medical Centre for Mental Health of Mühlenkreiskliniken (ZSG) has been university hospital of Ruhr Universität Bochum since July
1st, 2016 and jointly covers – together with the university hospital Minden and other university hospitals in Bad Oeynhausen and Herford – the practical medical education
(semester 7 and higher) of Ruhr-Universität Bochum in East-Westphalia-Lippe. The ZSG is subdivided into the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (PSY) including the
fields of general psychiatry, addiction psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry and the area for psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy (PSO).
Being part of the association of Mühlenkreiskliniken AöR, the hospitals in Minden, Lübbecke-Rahden and Bad Oeynhausen treat about 200,000 patients every year. Managed
by Prof. Hans Udo Schneider, MD, the ZSG takes care of people with mental-health problems in the administrative district of Minden-Lübbecke. The ZSG has a total of 170
stationary beds available for in-patients with psychological disorders. Apart from that, ZSG provides two day hospitals for psychiatry, psychosomatic and psychotherapy with
a total of 35 treatment places and a psychiatric outpatient clinic. The holder of this job will be responsible for the entire specialist field of psychosomatic and psychotherapy
including research, teaching and patient care. Apart from the entire range of psychosomatic medicine, for which ZSG currently has 20 beds available, this also includes the
development of comparable health care services in other hospitals that are part of Mühlenkreiskliniken.
We are looking for a personality with a comprehensive knowledge and clinical experience in the entire field of psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy as well as
proven competence and experience regarding teaching. You are able to demonstrate your nationally and internationally recognized professional and scientific qualification
and expertise with excellent publications and the successful procurement of third-party funds. Possible research focuses might include eating and/or pain disorders,
psychotraumatology or psychotherapy research. Other clinical research focuses are no reason to refrain from an application.
The position offered here demands leadership skills, social, strategic and conceptual competence, organizing abilities and communication skills. Prerequisite is an approval
as a medical specialist for psychosomatic and psychotherapy. Very good didactical skills, teaching experience and the ability to manage a clinic in a target-oriented and
economic way are expected on top of the above.
Next to the above, we also imply the willingness to cooperate with the other specialist departments of Mühlenkreiskliniken and a clinical-scientific cooperation with
institutions of the Faculty of Medicine and the RUB university hospitals in the existing main researches and development fields, particularly neurological science, molecular
medicine and health services research. Participation in present and future research projects of the association of Mühlenkreiskliniken is wanted.
Prerequisite for the position offered here are a positively rated junior professorship, habilitation or equal scientific achievements and pedagogic qualification and willingness
to involve in the academic self-administration.

Willingness to perform interdisciplinary scientific activities,
Willingness and ability to attract research projects funded by third parties.
Your challenge will also be the management of the research area of the Department for Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy as well as the management of this department
as head of department. In close co-operation with the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, your aim is the establishment of further institutions of Mühlenkreiskliniken.

After a positive evaluation (after 5 years), this position provides the accession to a W3 (analogue) professorship in connection with the independent management of
the university clinic for psychosomatic and psychotherapy off MKK. The employment contract for this placement is for an unlimited period and will be signed with
Mühlenkreiskliniken under private law. The link to the university will be effected according to Section 9 (2) HG NRW.
