The Institute for Prevention and Occupational Medicine of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) is an Institute of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (IPA) and faculty at IPA is responsible for research and teaching of Occupational Medicine at the Medical Faculty.

University professorship (W2-analog) with the option of "Tenure Track" (perpetual) for
Occupational Medicine and Corporate Health Management
The professorship is associated with the working group Corporate Health Management at the IPA.
Job applicants are approved specialists in occupational medicine and, beyond that, skilled by a further clinical specialist qualification. They have an outstanding international scientific profile in Occupational Medicine, Corporate Health Management, Health Protection, Workplace Health Promotion and Occupational Integration Management. Integration into the main research areas of the faculty of medicine is expected, in particular neurosciences and oncology, developing the field of Health Services Research, and cooperation with the clinical competence centers. Teaching includes the participation in the integrated medical reform program (iRM). Moreover, participation in the iRM general trainee program, part of a modular teaching schedule, is expected.
A positively evaluated junior professorship, habilitation or equivalent scientific qualification, excellent pedagogical aptitude, and the willingness to participate in academic self-administration is mandatory.
Additional required competencies:
• experience and skills in leadership and management,
• willingness for interdisciplinary scientific work,
• skills in teaching at a university,
• proofs of outstanding aptitude for academic teaching
• ability to acquire third-party funded research projects.

The recruitment is initially limited to 5 years. The option for tenure track provides the possibility for a transition from temporary to permanent professorship without referring to a specific job opening. Prerequisite is the achievement of the objectives agreed on in the target-setting meeting.
