- Online seit 06.05.2021
Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) is one of Germany’s leading research universities, which encompasses the whole range of academic disciplines. A highly dynamic setting enables researchers and students to work across the traditional boundaries of academic subjects and faculties. To create knowledge networks within and beyond the university is RUB’s declared aim.
The Faculty of Psychology invites applicants for a W1 Junior Professorship in Applied Psychology in Work and Health beginning October 2021.
The Faculty of Psychology at Ruhr-Universität Bochum is seeking to fill a junior professorship (W1) in "Applied Psychology in Work and Health" from 01.10.2021 or earlier. The tasks include teaching courses in the modules of counselling and intervention in the Bachelor's degree programme in Psychology (until WS 22/23) as well as courses in personnel psychology in the Bachelor's degree programme in Business Psychology (until WS 22/23) and in the M.Sc. Psychology with a focus on work, organisational and business psychology.
We are particularly interested in applicants who relate to the application within the areas of work and health, for example in topics such as the health-promoting design and effect of work with regard to strain and stress, stress resilience, as well as research into interventions, e.g. in the context of questions of ergonomics and occupational health management. Research is expected to involve cooperation with the fields of cognitive, social, clinical and business psychology.
Evidence of special suitability for academic teaching and a profile in research and teaching corresponding to the field of work, practical experience, willingness to cooperate and participation in academic self- administration are required.
Requirements for appointment are a completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude and a special aptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by the outstanding quality of a doctorate and further publications in international journals. Initial experience in the acquisition and implementation of third-party funded projects, interdisciplinary cooperation and an international orientation are desirable. We value open, transparent and replicable research, as also suggested in recent DGP recommendations. Applicants are asked to explain how they are already pursuing these goals and how they intend to pursue them in the future.
At RUB, we are committed to promote the careers of women and people of color in the areas in which they are underrepresented. We therefore encourage and welcome relevant applications as well as those from non- binary or gender-queer applicants. Applications from applicants with disabilities and applicants of equal status are also very welcome. Ruhr-Universität Bochum is an equal opportunities employer.
Recruitment will be for a fixed term of three years. After a positive evaluation, an extension for another three years is foreseen. Applications with required documents (CV, certificates and diplomas, proof of special suitability for academic teaching, if possible with evaluation results, list of publications, list of third-party funds acquired) should be sent in electronic form to the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Faculty of Psychology, Dean's Office by June 30th 2021 (firstname.lastname@example.org).
