W1 Junior Professorship in Educational Psychology & Development across Live Span
- Online seit 12.05.2021
Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) is one of Germany’s leading research universities, which encompasses the whole range of academic disciplines. A highly dynamic setting enables researchers and students to work across the traditional boundaries of academic subjects and faculties. To create knowledge networks within and beyond the university is RUB’s declared aim.
The Faculty of Psychology invites applications for a W1 Junior Professorship in Educational Psychology and Development across the Life Span with tenure track (W2) beginning October 2021.
The job holder will represent the field of educational psychology in research and teaching. Teaching will occur within the curriculum of the BSc and MSc Psychology degree programs.
The successful candidate will have a research focus on basic and applied topics in education psychology and development across the life span (e.g., teaching and learning research, prevention, cognitive development, multimedia learning), ideally including experimental psychological methods.
Key requirements are research excellence, successful generation of external research income, qualification to teach in higher education, openness towards interdisciplinary cooperations (especially with developmental psychology and clinical psychology, and the future German Center for Mental Health), and willingness to contribute to academic self-administration.
Applicants must have a completed university degree, be qualified for teaching in higher education, and show exceptionalaptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by the outstanding quality of a Ph.D. thesis and further publications in international peer-reviewed journals. Initial experience in acquiring and implementing third-party funded projects, interdisciplinary cooperation and an international orientation are desirable.
At RUB, we are committed to promote the careers of women and people of color in the areas in which they are underrepresented. We therefore encourage and welcome relevant applications as well as those from non- binary or gender-queer applicants. Applications from applicants with disabilities and applicants of equal status are also very welcome. Ruhr-Universität Bochum is an equal opportunities employer.
The position is tenure-track for appointment to a W2 professorship. If the evaluation is positive, the appointment to a W2 position involves a simplified appointment procedure. The subject-specific criteria for the evaluation of the professorship are available on request.
Applications with the usual documents (CV, degree certificates and diplomas, proof of particular suitability for academic teaching, if possible with evaluation results, list of publications, list of third-party funds acquired) are to be sent in electronic form to the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Faculty of Psychology, Dean’s Office by 30.06.2021 (email@example.com).
